Being chronically ill is lonely. I spend almost every moment I have alone. So when I discovered the incredible army of ill warrior princesses on social media, I was overjoyed as it meant having friends who understood what I was going through and people whom I could talk or FaceTime at any moment because they were all alone as well. It's rare in life to have one best friend who understands the depth of your weaknesses and loves you anyways, but I'm lucky, I have about 10. Perfect strangers have turned into my best friends. But one person in particular has changed my heart.
Ashley is a 26 year old patient in Canada who struggles with many of the same conditions as myself. She has the biggest heart of just about anyone I have ever come across. Ashley is able to do very little thanks to her illnesses. She spends a lot of her time in bed but that doesn't stop her from giving. She is constantly finding ways to improve the lives of little cancer warriors throughout the world through crafts and care packages. She gives and she gives but her body constantly takes. Ashley is in a tough way financially due to her prescriptions being ridiculously costly. Canada's "free" healthcare isn't all that free. Ashley cannot afford certain medications that she needs to LIVE. Sure, she is surviving with out them, but she is not LIVNG and if it takes some pills to improve her quality of life, I say we help her.
I have organzied a fundraiser to help out this warrior girl. I am selling rubber statement bracelets that will spread awareness for chronic illness and cancer. So if you or a loved one suffers, and even if you don't, consider buying one. If for some reason you don't want a bracelet but would still like to donate to Ashley, you can do so at the link below.

There are so many things that can be said about this amazing character so Ill leave it at this, she is a good person, a great person, who doesn't deserve half of the crap life has thrown her way, but she triumphs with a grace and humor that I admire. I urge you to pray for her, send her vibes, buy a bracelet or two, and consider donating to this amazing friend of mine.
